01Where Water Gets In

Water finds the weak points.

Hover the numbers to see the five areas of a home where we most often find water intrusion, and where our waterproofing work focuses.

  1. 1
Rooftop terracesElevated walking surfaces over living space need a continuous membrane and drainage.
  2. 2
Decks & balconiesEdges, drains and door thresholds are where most deck leaks begin.
  3. 3
Roof-to-wall transitionsWhere a roof or deck meets a wall, flashing must shed water past the joint.
  4. 4
Windows & wall openingsOpenings and penetrations that bypass the wall barrier let water inside.
  5. 5
Exterior stairs & landingsWalkable, slip-resistant waterproofing for steps and landings.
02Our Approach

Waterproofing is a building-envelope system.

A coating alone cannot fix a drainage problem or a missing flashing. We address the whole path water takes into your home.

01

Deck & Balcony Waterproofing

Walkable waterproof systems for decks and balconies, especially those built over bedrooms, garages and living space.

  • Membrane systems with slip-resistant wear surfaces
  • Edge, drain and door-threshold detailing
  • Substrate repairs before waterproofing
02

Rooftop Terraces & Elevated Surfaces

Elevated surfaces need drainage, protection and a continuous membrane that ties into parapets, walls and drains.

  • Rooftop decks and terraces
  • Elevated walkways and landings
  • Drainage and slope corrections where needed
03

Roof-to-Wall & Exterior Transitions

Where a roof or deck meets a wall is one of the most common places for water to enter a home. We detail these transitions correctly.

  • Base and counter-flashing
  • Integration with the wall water-resistive barrier
  • Window, door and penetration detailing
04

Waterproofing Repairs & Restoration

Existing waterproofing that is cracking, peeling or leaking can often be assessed and restored rather than torn out completely.

  • Condition assessment of existing systems
  • Repair of failed areas and details
  • Recoating and restoration where suitable

We install only the waterproofing systems we are qualified and appropriately licensed to apply. System selection depends on the substrate, exposure and the manufacturer’s requirements.

03Inside the System

Protection is built layer by layer.

Select an application to see how a typical waterproofing system is assembled, and hover a layer to see what it does.

Simplified, typical build-ups for illustration. Final systems depend on testing, substrate conditions and manufacturer requirements.

    04Our Process

Find the path. Close it for good.

We start by understanding how water is getting in, then build a solution around it.

    01

    Assessment

Decks, transitions and exterior surfaces inspected for water entry.

    02

    Documentation

Photos and findings showing failures and affected areas.

    03

    System & scope

A written scope with the recommended system and details.

    04

    Prep & install

Repairs, detailing and installation to manufacturer requirements.

    05

    Care & maintenance

Closeout photos and guidance for long-term performance.

    05Repair or Replace

An honest answer about your system.

Not every failing deck or balcony needs a full tear-out. Our assessment tells you which path makes sense, and why.

When the system is mostly sound

    Repair & restore

    • Failures are limited to edges, drains or details
    • The membrane is still bonded in most areas
    • The substrate below is dry and solid
    • Recoating can extend service life

    When the system has failed

    Remove & replace

    • Widespread cracking, blistering or delamination
    • Water damage to the deck or framing below
    • Missing or incorrect flashing at transitions
    • The surface needs to be rebuilt to drain properly

Your written proposal spells out the scope, materials and warranty terms for the option you choose.

    06Questions

    Waterproofing FAQs.

Answers for homeowners with decks, balconies or water intrusion concerns.

Why is my deck or balcony leaking into the room below?

Leaks usually start at edges, drains, door thresholds or where the deck meets the wall, rather than through the middle of the surface. A failed or missing flashing detail is a common cause.

Is a deck coating the same as waterproofing?

Not always. A decorative coating may not be a waterproof system. Walkable waterproofing uses a membrane designed to keep water out of the structure, with a wear surface on top.

Can existing waterproofing be repaired instead of replaced?

Often, yes. If the existing system is sound in most areas, failed areas and details can be repaired and the system recoated. We assess the condition before recommending a scope.

    What is a roof-to-wall transition?

It is the joint where a roof or deck meets a wall. It needs base flashing, counter-flashing and proper integration with the wall barrier to keep water out.

    Do you waterproof rooftop decks?

Yes. Rooftop terraces and elevated walking surfaces need a continuous membrane, proper drainage and protection for the wear surface. We evaluate the structure and drainage first.

Where do you provide waterproofing services?
